About the Strategic Finance team
The Strategic Finance team at Yoco is a high-performing, high-impact team responsible for planning, capital allocation, and performance insights across the company. We translate Yoco’s strategy into clear financial plans and provide the financial clarity that enables the business to scale sustainably.
From long-range planning and forecasting to unit economics, capital allocation, and performance analysis, the team partners closely across the organisation and is a trusted partner to leadership, deeply embedded in Yoco’s most important strategic and financial decisions.
We combine rigorous financial analysis with strong business partnering, focusing on building robust models, clear narratives, and scalable systems that connect insight, planning, and execution. Our work directly influences how Yoco prioritises initiatives, invests capital, and measures success.
About the role
As a Strategic Finance Associate, you will be at the forefront of shaping Yoco’s medium- to long-term trajectory. You will partner with Product, Technology, GTM, and Operations to evaluate initiatives, improve unit economics, and support disciplined capital allocation across the organisation. You will lead key elements of core planning and reporting cycles, own complex financial analyses, and work directly with senior stakeholders to inform strategic and operational decisions.
We are open to hiring this role at a more senior level for strong candidates with broader experience or greater ownership, with scope calibrated accordingly.
What you will be doing
Build, update, and maintain sophisticated financial models to capture complex business dynamics and improve how we look at our business to support strategic decision-making.
Take ownership of defined components of rolling forecasts, annual planning, and management reporting cycles, contributing clear performance commentary and narratives that explain variances, drivers, and implications.
Drive evaluation of key business initiatives, including new products, pricing & revenue management, strategic partnerships, and new market entry
Interpret key financial and operational performance indicators, growth trends, and competitive positioning (incl. benchmarking) and drive insights for leaders across the organisation.
Work cross-functionally with Product, GTM, and Operations teams to support planning, decision-making, and evaluation of initiatives.
Improve and maintain financial forecasting and reporting tools in collaboration with the Accounting and Data teams, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
Build strong relationships at different levels of the organisation by proactively reaching out to learn about concerns, priorities, and how we can better support them.
Prepare materials and analysis for Business Leaders, the Executive team, and the Board.
About you
3-4+ years’ experience in Strategic Finance (FP&A), Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or a similarly analytical role.
CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, with exceptional data analytics skills (e.g. Excel, BI tools, SQL or similar) and an ability to keep complex analysis simple and decision-oriented.
Solid understanding of corporate finance and accounting fundamentals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise analysis into clear insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and rolling up your sleeves to get hands-on across multiple teams.
Proficiency in FP&A tools (e.g. Abacum, Anaplan, Adaptive, or similar) is an advantage.
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or high-growth environments preferred.
