About the Strategic Finance team
The Strategic Finance team at Yoco is a high-performing, high-impact team responsible for planning, capital allocation, and performance insights across the company. We translate Yoco’s strategy into clear financial plans and provide the financial clarity that enables the business to scale sustainably.
From long-range planning and forecasting to unit economics, capital allocation, and performance analysis, the team partners closely across the organisation and is a trusted partner to leadership, deeply embedded in Yoco’s most important strategic and financial decisions.
We combine rigorous financial analysis with strong business partnering, focusing on building robust models, clear narratives, and scalable systems that connect insight, planning, and execution. Our work directly influences how Yoco prioritises initiatives, invests capital, and measures success.
About the role
As a Strategic Finance Analyst, you will play a core role in building and maintaining the analytical foundation that supports decision-making across Yoco. This is a highly analytical role focused on developing robust financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, new business ventures, and strategic analysis. You will be responsible for analysing business performance versus forecast, identifying key variances, trends, and drivers, and ensuring leadership has a clear, accurate view of how the business is performing.
What you will be doing
Build, maintain, and improve robust financial models used for forecasting, scenario analysis, new business ventures, and strategic decision-making.
Support rolling forecasts, annual planning, and long-range planning, ensuring models and assumptions remain accurate and up to date.
Run and continuously improve the monthly reporting cycle through the FP&A platform, working closely with Financial Controlling and Data teams to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reporting across actuals, forecasts, and plans.
Analyse business performance versus forecast and budget as part of the monthly reporting cycle, identifying key variances, trends, and underlying drivers, and flagging emerging risks and opportunities.
Conduct analytical deep dives across revenue, costs, unit economics, and operational metrics.
Produce dashboards, reports, and performance trackers used by Strategic Finance and leadership.
Drive improvements and automation across FP&A processes, models, and systems, and document assumptions and workflows to support scalability.
About you
Newly qualified CA(SA) with relevant commercial experience, or ~1 year experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, or a related analytical role.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with a solid foundation in Excel / Google Sheets and comfort working with data to support forecasts and analysis.
Exposure to data analytics tools or techniques (e.g. BI tools, SQL, or similar) and an interest in developing self-serve analytical capability.
Solid understanding of corporate finance and accounting fundamentals.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and partnering with Accounting and Data teams.
Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or high-growth environments is a plus.
You are curious, humble, and passionate about learning, with a strong desire to build solid financial foundations, take ownership of your work, and contribute to shared success.
