About the KYC team
At Yoco, we believe in creating access to financial technology for people, especially the underserved. One of the key processes to access the Yoco EcoSystem is the onboarding of our merchants. The KYC team works tirelessly to ensure that our new merchants are able to sign up and get active as quickly as possible, and ensure that their profiles are maintained accurately. The team is high-energy and high-performing, always seeking out more merchant-centric ways of doing things and combining technology and data to find the best solutions.
About the role
The KYC Onboarding Analyst will support the onboarding of new merchants by ensuring all Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements are met in compliance with regulatory and internal standards. This role involves reviewing client documentation, performing initial risk assessments, and assisting with the smooth integration of new merchants into the business.
What you will be doing
Assist in the onboarding process of new merchants, ensuring all KYC documentation is complete and accurate.
Conduct basic due diligence checks on clients, including identity verification, document validation, and bank account verification.
Handle KYC customer complaints by providing appropriate solutions and alternatives within the service level agreement and follow up to ensure resolution.
Ability to pick up KYC escalations from internal stakeholders (inside sales, outbound sales, and Account Management)
Escalate high-risk cases to senior analysts for enhanced due diligence.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all merchant profiles are up-to-date in the KYC system.
Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and internal compliance policies.
About you
A minimum of 1+ years KYC experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a large financial institution or bank
In-depth working knowledge of KYC practices and processes, and how this impacts different business types
KYC Complaint handling and query resolution
A thorough understanding of Screening for sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media
