About the Strategic Finance team
The Strategic Finance team at Yoco drives data-driven decision making by transforming data into insights and developing complex models. We collaborate closely with leaders across various teams to guide strategic decision-making, capital allocation, and business performance. Our responsibilities include monthly reporting, forecasting, board reporting, and in-depth analysis of new products, pricing, geographic expansion, and strategic partnerships.
About the role
We have an open role for an ambitious FP&A Analyst who will sit at the heart of the Strategic Finance team. Given Yoco’s high‑growth, scale‑up environment, we’re looking for a hands‑on analyst who thrives on tackling ambiguous problems, can zoom out to see the strategic picture and zoom in to model the details, and who is excited to help us continue building financial planning at Yoco.
You will work closely with the rest of the Strategic Finance team and engage with senior leaders from various functions, establishing yourself as a trusted partner on growth economics, investment trade‑offs, and overall business performance.
What you will be doing
- Build & enhance financial models - Design, build and continuously improve end‑to‑end financial models (business cases, cohorts, scenario planning).
- Forecasting & reporting - Own rolling forecasts and long‑range plans with the rest of the team; maintain reporting and forecasting tools (Abacum) and drive automation across our workflows.
- Strategic decision support - Evaluate new products, pricing changes, partnerships and market entries; size opportunities and frame trade‑offs.
- Drive business performance insight - Analyse key financial & operating KPIs, benchmark Yoco vs. peers, and surface insights that shape leadership action.
- Cross‑functional partnership - Partner with Product, Tech, Revenue, Marketing & Ops on pricing, unit economics, ROI and investment cases.
- Prepare executive materials - Prepare board decks, quarterly business reviews and investor updates that tell a clear, data‑driven story.
- Relationship building - Proactively engage stakeholders to understand priorities and ensure Strategic Finance is an indispensable partner.
- Ad‑hoc deep dives - Tackle high‑impact analytical projects that come up in a fast‑moving scale‑up environment.
About you
- Experience: 2–5 years in Strategic Finance/FP&A at a high-growth start-up or blue-chip company, or experience in fintech, investment banking, private equity, management consulting or transaction services.
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling in Excel and Google Sheets is required. Proficiency in ERP and FP&A software (Netsuite, Abacum) and SQL or BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field. CA(SA), CIMA or CFA is a plus.
- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of corporate finance, accounting and SaaS/fintech unit economics.
- Communication: Ability to translate data into clear narratives and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work Ethic: Proactive, collaborative, and able to navigate ambiguity and work efficiently.
- Personality: Passionate, humble, and possesses a growth mindset with a focus on shared success.
The people we’re looking for
We’re looking for brave people who want to grow. And as Yoco grows we hope they stay with us, long term.
Growing can be a daunting task and it’s not for everyone. We never stop pushing, we break things to rebuild, we challenge ourselves, and inspire each other to push further.
So, who are you? You’re a curious problem-solver with a passion for doing good. You’re bright and grounded, experimental and brave. You play open cards and get stuck in. You’re not afraid of change. You close the loop.
